If you had the chance to speak to 500 million people what would
you say? I would say wear a "bright colored shirt" so you
don't get lost in the crowd.
If they were also potential customers how would you best
structure and deliver your message?
You have perhaps 30 seconds to deliver your
message, let the brain process the contents; rationalize
and act on it! Then they move on. You have 30 seconds to catch their interest and pull them in,
or to leave enough of an impression that they return.
The higher the percentage of people that act on your message,
the more potential customers you will have focused on your
virtual sales pitch. You need to understand the sales cycle
of your products and the dynamics of selling on the
Internet. (eCommerce)
Refine your sales pitch and understand what it communicates! Avoid visual distractions,
remember you have 30 seconds to deliver. Our nervous systems react
instinctively
to motion, but the written word must be visualized and then
analyzed to be understood. Flash graphics do have a purpose and place where
they are effective, just don't over use them or depend on them to communicate your message.
You don't want your customers leaving the site saying "oh pretty site.. what were they selling?"
